“Here is the true meaning and value of compassion and nonviolence, when it helps us to see the enemy’s point of view, to hear his questions, to know his assessment of ourselves. For from his view we may indeed see the basic weaknesses of our own condition, and if we are mature, we may learn and grow and profit from the wisdom of the brothers who are called the opposition.”

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Over the past few years, we have watched our nation become more divided. Internet algorithms are driving our political discourse and the viewpoints we are exposed to. We are rapidly losing the art of civil political discourse. Political violence is spreading - and many of us have no idea what we can do about it.

enter this project. A small step towards a solution.

With nice, open-minded folks who are willing to come together and a few cat videos, perhaps we can help change the course of history. POP YOUR BUBBLE is a live event, where a politically diverse audience will gather to practice the lost art of listening to other viewpoints peacefully.

We will bring a few speakers together to share their views and some of their lived experiences that have shaped their beliefs. We will listen and build up our "civil discourse muscles”. There will be no cellphones or recordings. (we’re not doing this for clicks, likes, or shares). This is a tangible step in another direction. To break out of our silos or bubbles. Join us! (RSVP for the first) or Support Here

The Goals:

Engage and model in polite, civil discourse.  To “break bubbles” and hear different viewpoints on topics. To create a safe, internet-free space for political thought and conversation. To bring people together.
